Hinode saves face by publicly telling Miyo that he hates her. The next day in class, a boy snatches the note before she can deliver it and reads it aloud, embarrassing both Miyo and Hinode. Hinode's kindness towards her, combined with a need to cheer him up at the loss of his hobby inspires Miyo to confess her love in the form of a letter. Later that evening, as Tarō, Miyo learns that Hinode's family is closing their pottery shop, as the family can no longer afford it. She hurts herself during the jump, and for the first time, Hinode shows warmth to her as he takes her to the nurse and shares his lunch with her. One day, Miyo overhears a pair of boys at school talking trash about Hinode, and loudly intervenes by jumping off the school building to defend his honor. She longs to confess that the cat that he loves and the girl that he hates are the same person, but is afraid that he will reject her and refuse to visit with Tarō anymore. As "Tarō", she spends time with Hinode at his home, keeps him company while he studies Japanese pottery, and listens to his problems. One day, Miyo receives a magical Noh mask from a mysterious mask seller, which lets her become a cat. Each day at school, she goes out of her way to flirt with her crush, Kento Hinode, in spite of his repeated rejections. The music all belongs to the K pop genre.Miyo Sasaki is an unhappy middle school girl living in the town of Tokoname, Aichi Prefecture who does not get along with her stepmother Kaoru after her mother Miki Sasaki left. The Chinese dub is basically Chinese covers of the Kpop songs. I was able to find a Mandarin Chinese dub as well. But this anime is originally produced in Korea. There's also an EXO cover song named Mama. For example, there's insert songs titled Gee and Into the New World. A lot of the insert songs are covers from hit popular songs from the albums of Girls Generation (now SNSD). The characters have a wide range of personalities from very vain, arrogant, kindhearted, feminine, caring, smart, athletic, tomboyish, etc.Sound / Music: Shining Star has connections and ties to SM Entertainment. I've always liked anime with a huge assortment of characters so Shining Star fits the criteria. The main idol units are Melody, Macaron, Purple Queen, Dolls, and Friday. There's a large variety of characters and idol groups. There's also a lot of CGI since this is a typical shoujo style idol anime. Basically this anime shifts between 3D and 2D animation. The students go through multiple missions to win cards for their performances.Characters (10/10): The characters are mostly female but there are essentially male supporting characters, and one main male idol group (Friday).
But basically, this anime focuses on the stories behind the aspiring idol students. So with a hard work ethic and dedication, she eventually becomes the top idol aka Muse.
She passes but finds out that her skill level is way below the others in the class. After meeting Jin, her family convinces him to take her to the auditions for Shining Star Academy. She always dreams of becoming a popular idol sensation. Shining Star follows the story of the pink haired heroine: Nara Chae. The Chinese dub has a brand new original opening and ending theme.Genres: Shoujo, Music, KidsStory: There's no sypnosis. Shining Star has debuted in Korea, and China.
The rest of the episodes belong to Season 2 where a majority of the students are promoted to the debut class. Season 1 focuses on the students in the predebut class. The first season of Shining Star contains the first 26 episodes. I had very little exposure to Korean music so I did some research before I wrote this review. It's different from all the pop idol anime I watched in the past because it's the very first time I watched Kpop cover songs adapted in an anime. Shining Star was my very first Kpop themed anime. Shining Star was a whole new genre of anime for me.
