To me none of that is possible, i tried to use ps4 controllers but had the worst time ever trying to make them to work without any progress at all, the game is far from plug and play.
The only disadvantage in LAN terms is you'll lose the great low latency of a LAN, as you'll all be connecting to the internet instead of more directly to each other. In any case, you can make your game private or invite only, so that you're only playing with your friends. Hook it up to the TV, grab a few pads, a few beers and have many laughs.
